The Department introduced two certificate courses during the academic year 2018-2019.
  1. PCB Designing and Manufacturing
  2. MATLAB
PCB Designing and Manufacturing:

This course was conducted in collaboration with Microlink Peripheral Controls (P) Ltd., Vijayawada.

Objective of the Course:

  • This is a basic course for designing of PCB.  
  • PCB (Printed Circuit Board) designing is an integral part of each electronics products. 
  • This program is designed to make students capable to design their own projects PCB up to industrial grade.


Description: PCB designing training is a quality training delivered by the expert from the electronics industry. Their innovative methods of imparting knowledge and skills ensure students to get the maximum out of customized course curriculum mapping with the industry needs.The best of the techniques and tools required for PCB designing are explained and demonstrated during the learning sessions. Tips and tricks for producing functional design boards at the first time are also provided during the training.

Course Outcome: Students will be able to
  • Identify how to select the components for the circuit design
  • Understand circuit design process 
  • Differentiate between different  types of PCB
  • Detailed knowledge about Schematic
  • Design, place items, edit  the layout and also troubleshoot errors there
  • Etching process for final PCB




60 students from I,II & III MECs were trained in PCB Designing and obtained certificates upon the completion of the course.

MATLAB:


Aim of the Course:
  • It is designed to give students a basic understanding of MATLAB, including popular toolboxes.
  • The course consists of interactive lectures and sample MATLAB problems discussed in class.
  • Concepts covered include basic use, graphical representations and tips for designing and implementing MATLAB code.

Objectives:
  • Understanding the MATLAB environment .
  • Being able to do simple calculations using MATLAB.
  • Being able to carry out simple numerical computations and analysis using MATLAB.
  • Provide a foundation in use of this software for real time applications. 

Course Outcomes:


Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  • Understand the main features of the MATLAB development environment .
  • Use the MATLAB Graphical User Interface effectively .
  • Design simple algorithms to solve problems .
  • Write simple programs in MATLAB to solve scientific and mathematical problems .
