Exhibition on Contribution of Teachers in Indian Knowledge System

Teacher’s day (Shikshak Parv) was celebrated on 5 September, 2022. As a part of Teacher’s day celebrations, UGC has requested all the Higher Education Institutions to organize an exhibition on Contribution of Teachers in the Indian Knowledge System. In this connection, the Department of Electronics organized an exhibition on 9 September, 2022. The main objective of this exhibition was to acknowledge the dignity of the teaching profession and the contribution of teachers in nurturing young minds and nation building. Students came up with a chart and model presentation of three eminent personalities. The details are as follows:

  1. Ms.Sravani and Ms.Tejaswi of III B.Sc. MECs presented the invention of Mr.Ajay Bhatt: USB.

  2. Ms.Mahitha of II B.Sc. MECs presented the invention of Mr.Vinod Dham: Pentium chip.

  3. Ms.Musharath of II B.Sc. MECs presented the invention of the fiber optic: Dr.Narinder Singh Kapany.

All the three inventions contributed to the technology revolution and are still going strong with new advancements in their respective fields. Two faculty members, Ms.K.H.Anuhya and Ms.K.Pooja trained the students and coordinated.

National Level Technology E-Quiz 

The nation celebrates Engineer's Day on September 15th to commemorate the birth anniversary of the greatest Indian Engineer Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The day is dedicated to our engineers’ past achievements and glorifies the present engineering trends in the field of science and technology.

In this connection, the Department of Electronics conducted a National Level Technology E-Quiz. The main objective to conduct the e-quiz was to bring awareness among the public about modern day technology. The e-quiz was open to all from 13 to 16 September, 2021. There was an overwhelming response and received 474 responses from various parts of the country covering six states and one from Italy as well. (Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Italy)

Out of the 476 responses received, 446 students, 26 faculty and 4 others answered the e-quiz. 

Participation e-certificates were issued to the participants who scored 50% and above. E-certificates were issued to 343 participants who scored 50% and above in the e-quiz.





National Level Infographic Competition 

Every year International E-Waste Day is observed on 14th October. Rapid advances in technology, urbanisation and economic growth are the major reasons for rapid increase in E-Waste. The day brings out the importance of recycling and reducing e-waste. 

In this connection, the Department of Electronics conducted a National Level Infographic Competition on E-waste Recycling. The main objective to conduct this competition was to sensitize the youth on E-waste recycling. The competition was open to all from 12 to 16 October, 2021. There were 19 infographics responses received from various parts of the country covering five states. (Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Telangana and  Andhra Pradesh)

All the infographics received depicted the awareness about the need of recycling and reusing the e-waste.

The judgement was done by a panel of judges taking into account the three main  parameters: 1. Effectiveness in raising awareness 

2. Visual Quality

 3. Originality/Creativity 

The winners of the competition were: 

First prize: Syed Navreen, SRK Institute of Technology, Vijayawada

Second prize: Naithika Das, Anna Adarsh College For Women, Chennai

Third prize: Angel P, St Anne's Degree College for Women, Bangalore

Participation e-certificates were issued to all the participants.

Skill Development Courses

17 students of III B.Sc. MECs completed an online skill development course in Air Conditioning titled “Office Automation Tools” at Siemen’s Centre, Andhra Loyola Institute of Engineering and Technology, Vijayawada from   20th Jan   to 11th Feb, 2021.


11 students of III B.Sc. MECs completed 16 Coursera courses each having a duration of 3 to 7 weeks from Sep 2020 to Nov 2020.
